Privacy
What this site collects, and what it does not.
Last updated 26 September 2026. This policy covers Ahmed X Marketing and this website. It is written in plain language on purpose.
01 · Who is responsible
Ahmed X Marketing is run by Ahmed Sami Akhter. If you have a question about anything on this page, or you want a copy of what I hold about you, email contact@ahmedsamiakhter.com and I will answer it myself.
02 · What gets collected
Only what you send, plus what any website records to stay online and secure.
- Contact form: your name, email address, the type of business you run and your message. It is sent straight to my inbox as an email. This website does not keep a copy in a database.
- Newsletter form: your email address, so I can send the notes you asked for. It arrives by email and is kept in a private spreadsheet.
- Server logs held by the host, including IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These are used to keep the site up and to stop abuse.
- Anonymous page speed measurements, used to see whether pages load quickly. They set no cookies and do not follow you to other websites.
- Session recordings and heatmaps with Microsoft Clarity: how you move through a page, including clicks, scrolling and pointer movement, so I can see where the site is confusing. Anything typed into the forms is masked and never recorded.
- Visit measurement with Google Analytics: the pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (country and city). Google says Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. It is used to see which pages are useful and which are not.
03 · Why it gets collected
To reply to you, to send you something you asked for, and to keep the website working and secure. Nothing collected here is sold, rented, or used to build an advertising profile of you.
04 · Who else can see it
The website is hosted by Vercel, so requests pass through their servers. Messages arrive by email through the mail provider for this domain. Visit measurements are processed by Google through Google Analytics, and session recordings by Microsoft through Clarity. When the Instagram feed is on, your browser loads images directly from Instagram, so Meta can see that request in the same way it would on any page with an Instagram embed. Nobody else receives your data.
05 · How long it is kept
Messages stay in my inbox for as long as there is a reason to keep them, which for an enquiry that does not become a project is normally up to two years. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Visit measurements are kept for no longer than Google Analytics allows, which is at most 14 months. Microsoft keeps Clarity recordings for 30 days, and its aggregated reports for up to 13 months. Host logs are kept on the host's own short retention schedule.
06 · Cookies
The public pages set first-party cookies from Google Analytics (_ga and _ga_MN9N3X8GLK) and Microsoft Clarity (_clck and _clsk), which tell a returning visit apart from a new one and group a visit's pages together. Clarity may also set Microsoft's MUID cookie. None of them is used for advertising by this site. The owner dashboard at /admin sets one session cookie, and only the site owner ever signs in there.
You can block these cookies in your browser's privacy settings, or with Google's opt-out add-on for Google Analytics. The site works the same without them.
07 · Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or tell me to stop using it. Email contact@ahmedsamiakhter.com and it will be done, normally within a few days and always within a month. If you are in the UK or the EU and you are not satisfied with the answer, you can complain to your national data protection authority.
08 · Children
This site is aimed at business owners. It is not directed at children and it does not knowingly collect anything from them.
09 · Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Nothing already collected is used for a new purpose without asking you first.
